This is a project I've been wanting to get into for a while now, just needed some free time on the weekend.
long sleeve shirt
pair of socks
2 big rolls of duct tape
2 10ft sections of 1" PVC pipe
8 1" PVC tee's
4 1" PVC 90' bends
1 1" PVC 45' bend
4 bags of pillow stuffing
Frame built out of 1" PVC pipe.
Duct tape your lower half. We tried to make sure the tape was about 3 layers deep. We used strips of tape @6-14" long and kept it snug. We didn't take the roll and pull the tape around me because that would make it very tight and hard to remove.
Duct tape your top half.
(Kung-Fu grip optional)
The kung-fu grip has many uses though.
Use medical scissors or be really careful cutting off the clothes. We simply cut the shirt up the middle and the pants down the back of each leg. If you cut too much it's no issue because you can tape it back together.
Next, slide the pants on the mannequin and begin filling with pillow stuffing. Tape the pants back together as you fill up the legs. Put the shirt on the mannequin and tape together with the pants. Start filling with pillow stuffing and tape your cut seams back as it fills up.
Next put on the costume:
I did use the black tape to cover the gaps in the armor.
A mannequin that is custom to your own body shape and fits your costume perfectly. It cost only about $50 in supplies and was fun to do.
I still need to zip tie the blaster to the hands but it's essentially finished. _________________
