Lucasfilm – Celebration VI,  August 23-26, 2012

Thank you to the Rebel Legion
FROM: Mary Franklin

To the Members of the Rebel Legion:

Thank you so much for your inspiring and creative efforts – and all the hard work! – to produce your amazing contributions to Celebration VI. Your booth on the show floor was inspired! You created tens of thousands of smiles and great memories, from kids to adults to some very impressed people at Lucasfilm. Your Jawa workshop was just inspired! Honestly one of my favorite displays on the floor, and I’m sure the favorite of many other people.

Thank you for all your time programming – the panels and the time with families and kids, delighting them with your costumes.

It is an honor to work with you. I look forward to working with you well into the future.

AHA Asperger Syndrome and High Functioning Autism Association

January 9, 2013

Dear Patrick,

On behalf of the AHA Association’s Board of Directors, many thanks to you and the other members of Rebel Legion and the 501st for your generous support of our 3rd annual Rock ‘N’ Bowl for Autism fundraiser. We appreciate the hours you all spent helping to make the event so memorable. The day was a resounding success, and we couldn’t have done it without you.
Rock ‘N’ Bowl for Autism was attended by over 200 families and friends who enjoyed an afternoon of bowling, refreshments and an appearance by special guests
from the Star Wars costuming group, Rebel Legion and Empire City Garrison. AHA partnered with the Compass Project for a Hurricane Sandy Winter Clothing Drive, and attendees generously donated hundreds of items for those in need.

The proceeds from Rock ‘N’ Bowl will help AHA continue the vital work it has done for over 24 years, providing crucial services that meet the unique needs of individuals with Asperger Syndrome and related conditions. AHA reaches nearly ten thousand people annually through one-to-one phone and e-support; more than a dozen monthly support meetings including groups for families, spouses/partners, and for teens and adults on the spectrum. We are able to offer two conferences each year, one serving education issues K-12 and the other focusing on independence for adolescents and adults. AHA publishes two information-packed bi-annual print publications. Each year we answer over 2500 queries from families of newly diagnosed individuals, those in the midst of crisis, or others facing the challenges of education, housing and employment.
AHA is a member based organization staffed primarily by dedicated volunteers. Our accomplishments are made possible only with the help of committed supporters like you. 90% of every dollar raised by AHA goes directly to providing support and resources to the families and individuals we serve.
Again, thank you for everything. The appearances by the Rebel Legion and 501st members was an essential part of what made Rock ‘N’ Bowl such a successful day.
Sincerely,
Patricia R. Schissel, LMSW
Executive Director, AHA

Helen Kate Furns Free Library – February, 2013

Dear Tim [Levan Echo Base XO],
Thank you so much for your efforts to liberate the Helen Kate Furness Library! There were 122 fans who were thrilled by the appearance of all the Star Wars characters especially Boba Fett, Darth Vader, etc. Thank you for dispatching Commander Skywalker, though l felt he was out numbered. I learned so much from the visit even the difference between an ARF Clone Trooper and a Stormtrooper. It was also great that the event brought out so many dads. If you want to see some of the pictures posted on the library Facebook page head to www.hkflibrary.org. The other photos will be very helpful in library use. I also want to thank you for the great prizes you had for the kids and the amazing Lego Star Wars volumes that will spend very little time on the library shelves due to their extreme popularity.

I hope we can continue and bring more Rebels, and boarden our association in the future. Give my sincere thanks to your Luke Skywalker member (Ryan Miorelli), I appreciated his dedication to giving up a weekend to bring smiles to our patrons.

Sincerely,
Lori Friedgen-Veitch
