Today, we come together to celebrate a remarkable milestone: the 25th anniversary of the Rebel Legion, a community built on a shared love of the galaxy far, far away, and a dedication to making a difference. Through countless hours of hard work, creativity, and passion, our members have consistently raised the bar for screen-accurate costumes, bringing the beloved characters of Star Wars to life with astonishing detail and authenticity. From its humble beginnings, the Rebel Legion has blossomed into a premier fan organization, bringing together thousands of passionate members across nations and uniting them with a shared commitment to authenticity, creativity, and generosity.
For a quarter of a century, the Rebel Legion has set the gold standard in costume recreation, ensuring that each member’s portrayal of their favorite Star Wars characters is as close to screen accurate as possible. But our club is about more than just costuming—it's about using our talents and enthusiasm to give back to those in need. Beyond the incredible craftsmanship, it is the spirit of community, mentorship, and giving back that truly defines the Rebel Legion. Members have dedicated their time and talent, not just to create awe-inspiring costumes, but to use their talents to support charitable causes and inspire fans of all ages to explore the magic of Star Wars in a meaningful way. Over these 25 years, we’ve participated in a countless number of events, using our presence to raise money and awareness for charitable causes. Whether it’s visiting children’s hospitals, organizing fundraising events, or participating in conventions and community gatherings, our group has proven that the Force is not just about fandom; it’s about making a tangible, positive impact on the world around us.
The Rebel Legion is a family where inclusion is at the heart of everything we do. From the very beginning, the Legion has worked tirelessly to ensure that this fandom is accessible to all, embracing fans of all abilities and backgrounds. Costuming
The Rebel Legion is an international Star Wars costuming organization created by, of and for people interested in creating costumes from the Star Wars mythos. Research, create, build and improve your costumes in a place where costumers with similar passions share skills, tips and ideas. Jedi, Rebel Pilots, Troopers, Princesses and even Wookiees - we’ve got them all, and we’re always looking for more.
What makes us good guys?
Besides our ‘Good Guy’ costumes, our worldwide membership often choose to give back to their communities (through costumed volunteer activities and charity events). No one can provide the public with a greater range of Star Wars costumes, nor a more personable, interactive, face to face experience.
Charity
To our Beloved and Shared Star Wars Fan Community. We began our combined work with Starlight Children's Foundation in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia in May 2022. In September 2023, we partnered together to create the Galaxy of Hope Telethon.
Today, we are pleased to share that we raised $17k, and every dollar donated was matched, bringing our total raised to over $34K! Starlight received an additional $32K from our generous matching donor, ensuring that even more hospitalized kids nationwide will receive critical support from Starlight programs. Combined with our efforts from Star Wars Celebration Anaheim, we have helped Starlight raise an estimated $100,000.
The Starlight Children’s Foundation has awarded us, and the other clubs involved, their Golden Hero Award for 2023 for these efforts. We could not be more proud of this community. A huge thanks to all who contributed and may the force be with us all!
