CHARACTER DESCRIPTION
Rebel Alliance’s starfighter corps pilots who fly a sturdy troop transport and gunship. The U-wing starfighter is a well-armed swing-wing vessel that must penetrate heavy fire zones to deposit soldiers onto battlefields and then fly air support during dangerous missions against the Empire. REQUIRED ITEMS

Flight Suit

Required Details:

  1. Petroleum blue one-piece flight suit/coveralls made with fabric that has a slight sheen (such as acetate or bomber silk) with sufficient weight to create a puffy look
  2. Contrasting top stitching in a beige-colored thread
  3. There is a horizontal seam or double-topstitched line on the front of the flight suit that runs across the upper chest
  4. There are two vertical seams or double-topstitched lines that run from the upper chest (horizonal seam) to belt seam on each side of the chest.
  5. There are two vertical seams or double-topstitched lines that run from the upper chest (horizonal seam) to waist seam centered on each side of the chest.
  6. Front zipper is hidden by a strip of the same material as the flight suit that is approximately 5 cm (2″) wide
  7. Sleeves have knife pleats from the bottom of the collar to the wrist on the wearer’s right arm and to the comm pad pocket on the left arm.
  8. Each pleat is approximately 12.5 mm (½″) wide
  9. Pleats are made of an off-white fabric of similar material to that of the suit, lighter than the gloves
  10. The pleating is inset with piping along the edges
  11. The strip of pleats is approximately 7.5 cm (3″) wide
  12. Mandarin-style collar with straight ends is approximately 10 cm (4″) tall and slouched to be shorter in the front
  13. Collar closes at the front from wearer’s left to right
  14. Collar is padded and has a horizontal grey/silver zipper along the sides and back to create the appearance of a hidden hood.
  15. Comm pad pocket is on the outside of wearer’s left forearm above the wrist, centered to the shoulder seam and placed approximately halfway between the wrist and elbow. Open window is large enough for most of comm pad to be visible, border approximately 2.5 cm (1″) around all sides around window
  16. There are two chest pockets with curved openings that have a height starting at approximately center on the chest and extending to 5-7.5 cm (2-3″) above the waist seam, and width from the horizonal wrapping around the sides of the torso, one on each side
  17. Flight suit has two upper thigh pockets with curved openings, one on each leg, positioned close to the outer side seam of pant leg. The pocket is approximately ¾ the width of the pant leg lying flat, with height extending from approximately the wearer’s waist to the middle of the thigh
  18. The wearer’s right front thigh has a cargo-style knee pad pocket with a rectangular frame at the top and a bottom flap with blue/dark grey webbing pull tab. Width is the same as width of upper thigh pockets, height is taller than width by approximately 2.5 cm (1″).
  19. There is a charcoal/dark grey vertical, rectangular pocket on the wearer’s left front thigh approximately 10 cm (4″) tall and 6.5 cm (2.5″) with a vertical grey/silver zipper
  20. There is a rectangular shaped pocket approximately 10 cm (4″) tall with width covering 1/3 of the leg on the outside lower portion of each leg. The pocket has a horizontal grey/silver zipper at the top.
  21. There is a charcoal/dark grey thin vertical rectangle approximately 6.5 cm (2.5″) wide at the center of each leg that reaches down to the bottom of the pant leg with a vertical grey/silver zipper

Optional Details:

  1. Collar closes at the front with two snaps
  2. Top and bottom portions of the flight suit have a 2.5 cm (1″) wide strip of material casing the same as the flight suit that wraps around the flight suit from approximately the center of each side in the front wrapping around the back
  3. There are two grommets on the front middle of the suit in line with the casing with pull strings through them at the waist
  4. Right front thigh cargo-style knee pad pocket has a side pen pocket

Flak Vest

Required Details:

  1. Flak vest consists of a front and back panel made of an off-white or beige material (ballistic nylon or similar fabric) that is weathered
  2. Flak vest is proportional to the wearer
  3. Flak vest is contoured to fit over the chest and back
  4. Font and back panels are connected at the top by shoulder straps approximately 5 cm (2″) wide that extend over the shoulders
  5. Shoulder straps are sewn in place to the inside of the flak vest panels
  6. Front and back panels connect at the middle of the front panel and bottom of the back panel sides with straps of approximately 2.5 cm (1″) webbing similar in color to the vest using a strap adjuster style buckle that sits approximately 7.5 cm (3″) below the armpit
  7. The excess strap lengths are either trimmed to length or tucked into the track to present a neat appearance.
  8. Front and back panels have a series of horizontal ribs created by inserting 6.5 mm (¼”) tubing (or similar sized material) through fabric tubes prepared for the tubing.
  9. Ribs are separated from each other by a space that is the same width as a finished rib
  10. Ribs on the front and back panels stop approximately 2.5 cm (1″) from each side
  11. Front Panel
    – Top of the front panel sits 0-5 cm (0-2″) below the collar
    – Panel covers most of the torso
    – Top half of the panel is fitted and contours over the chest
    – Bottom half of the panel tapers at a diagonal on each side and has a horizontal flat bottom 15-23 cm (6-9″)
    – There are two equally spaced ribs at the top (near the collar)
    – Immediately below the two top ribs, there is a flat wide area (“The Gap”) with approximately 8 horizontal rows of top stitching that are approximately 6.5 mm (¼”) apart, for a total of approximately 5 cm (2″) of flat area
    – Immediately below “The Gap”, there are 4-6 ribs that gradually get longer to curve around the arm
    – Immediately below there are 4-6 ribs of the same length that extend to approximately 10 cm (3″)
    – There are 9-11 ribs total in the middle section under “The Gap”
    – The remaining area has a flat wide area with 11-13 horizontal rows of top stitching that is approximately 6.5 mm (¼″) apart, for a total of approximately 12.5 cm (5”) of flat area
  12. Back Panel:
    – Top of the back panel sits high on the wearer’s back very close to the collar
    – Back panel has approximately 13-14 equally spaced ribs at the top proportional to wearer
    – Immediately below the 13-14 top ribs, there is a gap approximately 3 cm (1.25″) with a track for webbing that is open in the center showing approximately 10 cm (4″) of webbing.
    – There are 2 ribs below the track
    – Back panel has diagonal shaped corners where the bottom edge meets each side
    – Back panel covers approximately half of the torso with flight suit visible between the belt and panels

Optional Details:

  1. Back panel webbing has a silver strap adjuster style buckle

Chest Box

Required Details:

Note: All direction descriptions of the chest box are when looking at the box from from the front

  1. White rectangular box made of a hard, smooth material that is approximately 19 cm (7.5″) tall, 20 cm (8″) wide, and 2.5 cm (1″) thick
  2. There is a raised rectangular section extending out of the top of the box that is approximately ¾ the length of the box
  3. The front top section of the box has a grey square on the left with two circular greeblies, an inset semicircle in the middle, and grey circle with plus sign on the right with a outlined details
  4. Below the top section there are inset line details, an inset grey rectangle, and a small red rectangle.
  5. On the right side of the lower section, there is a vertical grey box that extends from the top section to almost the bottom of the box that is approximately 1/3 the width of the box
  6. There are 2 circles in the grey box, one in the upper left corner and one in the lower right that is slightly larger than the top circle
  7. There is an inverted V-shaped cutout in the lower left side of the box with a channel between the main section of the chest box and an inset that contains a blue rectangle
  8. The inset has a silver grey connector section extending from the lower left side with 2 connectors for wires
  9. There are 2 black wires approximately 3 mm (⅛”) thick extending from the lower left side of the connector section of the chest box to the rectangular box
  10. The top wire from the inset connector on the chest box is connected to the right side of the rectangular box and passes over the bottom wire that connects to the left side of the rectangular box
  11. Rectangular box is approximately 3 cm (1.25″) tall, ¾ the width of the full chest box, and 2 cm (¾”) thick
  12. Rectangular box has an inset circle in the upper left corner approximately 1 cm (.5″) in diameter
  13. Rectangular box has a horizontal grey rectangle approximately ⅔ the width of the box
  14. Rectangular box has a silver grey connector section extending from the top right side of the box and has 2 connectors for the wires
  15. The chest box sits approximately even or just below the top front of the flak vest
  16. The chest box covers approximately ¾ of the flak vest vertically
  17. The additional rectangular box sits along the bottom edge of the flak vast with visible flak vest between the bottom of the chest box and the additional box

Flak Vest Greeblie

Required Details:

  1. Square greeblie approximately 2.5 cm (1.5″) with a disc on top
  2. Attached to the Flak Vest under the corner of the chest box on the wearer’s left

Flight Harness

Required Details:

  1. Made of off-white or beige webbing approximately 5 cm (2″) wide
    • There are 2 straps that extend from under the flak vest with the attachment hidden by the flak vest
    • Each strap extends just past the wearer’s knee and loops around the leg just below the back of the knee.
    • Harness is weathered

Optional Details:

  1. Front strap loop is adjustable with a sliver slider used to connect the loop

Belt

Required Details:

  1. Belt is made of off-white or beige webbing that is approximately 5 cm (2″) wide and the same as the harness
  2. Belt is closed with a 5 cm (2″) silver/gray roll pin (British roll pin) style belt buckle that may be centered or off-centered
  3. Off-white or beige webbing loops the same color and material as the belt, approximately 2.5 cm (1″), are sewn on one side and divided into six loops.
  4. Belt is worn with loops on either the left or right side of the wearer
  5. Free end of belt is tucked in to the inside of the belt with a fabric loop to keep secured
  6. Belt is weathered
  7. Belt contains six flares
  8. Belt flares are silver metal or metallic silver in appearance air line hose connector fittings or replicas of similar shape and detail to fit in belt loops
  9. When in the belt loops, one end of the belt flare has a visible vertical cylinder, the other has 6-8 visible ribs
  10. Belt flares extend approximately the width of the belt
  11. Ribbed side of flares face down

Rogue One Comm Pad

Required Details:

  1. Rectangular communications pad with four rows of buttons and detailing on a white background
  2. Top row of pad has four raised vertical rectangles with colors from left to right: black, grey, blue, red
  3. Second row from the top has two raised rectangular areas, the left being slightly larger than the right. Left is white with patterned holes on top, right is white with 2 horizontal recessed parallel lines and raised red circle in the center
  4. Third row from the top has three raised areas: Left is a red rectangle, middle is a white square, right is slightly larger white square with a raised vertical line in the middle
  5. Bottom row has three raised areas: left small dark grey square with raised hollow circle, middle white rectangle with raised vertical line in the middle, right is a dark grey rectangle with 4 rows and 4 columns of raised rectangles
  6. Comm pad is contoured slightly to fit the arm
  7. Visible in the comm pad pocket of flight suit

Gloves

Required Details:

  1. Gray, beige, or black gauntlet gloves in a heavy fabric, suede, or suede-like material
  2. The gauntlet has five to six lines of pleated stitching going horizontally around the gauntlet
  3. There are four wider pleats on the top of the hand with the first three pleats that are closest to the fingers being the same size but smaller than the lower pleat, which is wider
  4. Gloves are darker than sleeve pleats

Optional Details:

  1. There is a small strap attached on the inside top of the wrist behind the thumb

Glove Comm Pad

Required Details:

  1. Glove comm pad is grey, thin rectangular base with teeth on the left edge, triangular slope, and a red screen or mesh in the center of the slope
  2. Glove comm pad is approximately 5 cm (1.75″) wide and 4 cm (1.5″) tall
  3. Glove comm pad is attached to the gauntlet of the left glove
  4. Glove comm pad is positioned with the teeth facing to the wearer’s left (little finger side of the hand)

Optional Details:

  1. Center of the slope has a PCB pattern in the red area

Leg Flare Holder with Rogue One Specific Leg Flares

Required Details:

  1. The holder is olive drab or dark grey in color and is made of webbing, canvas, or similar material that is approximately 11 cm (4.5″) tall
  2. Running the center of the holder is a thinner strap made of the same material sectioned off into eight loops and approximately 1/2 the height of the full holder
  3. Each holder loop contains a leg flare that is approximately 10 cm (4″) tall
  4. Leg flares are silver in color
  5. Each leg flare is cylindrical in shape, starts off narrower at the top, has a wider portion at the middle, and narrows in at the bottom. Each has a wide ring, and then narrows once again to a flat end
  6. Holder wraps around either lower leg and is fastened together in the back
  7. The charcoal/dark grey thin vertical rectangle with zipper at the bottom of the leg is visible above the holder

Boots

Required Details:

  1. Boots are leather or leather-like pull-on style “Engineer” or “Jack” boots
  2. Visible height of the boots reach approximately to the bottom of the wearers calf
  3. Boots are largely unadorned with no visible embossed or painted branding
  4. Boots have a wide rounded toe in the style of a military Jack boot
  5. Boots have low heels, approximately 2.5 cm (1″) tall
  6. Boots are devoid of visible laces, buckles, straps, or other ornamentation
  7. Boots are devoid of visible front and outside zippers or other large vertical seams
  8. Top of each boot is covered with bloused pant leg of the flight suit

Optional Details:

  1. Boots may have a black zipper hidden or on the inside of the boot

Face Character

Required Details:

  1. Helmet with paint scheme matching authentic quality to include details and weathering to face character
  2. All optional costume items match face character (ex. number of code cylinders, belt flares, etc)
  3. Weathering matches face character costume
  4. Hair and other unique features match face character

U-wing Pilot Helmet

Required Details:

  1. Helmet is the shape of a helicopter helmet
  2. The helmet bulges over each ear
  3. There are 2 ridges centered on either side of the top of the helmet that span the length of the helmet from front to back with raised areas on either side
  4. Helmet has an amber translucent visor lens covering the eyes. This is fixed or movable
  5. There is a cover that sits above the visor that extends the length of the front of the helmet and over each ear bulge
  6. The top of the cover is curved to wrap around the helmet and extend to the center of the ear
  7. There are two circular grommets on each side of the top cover at each bottom corner over the ears
  8. There is a trapezoidal raised area extending from the cover on each side that has a cutout horizontally down the center
  9. There is a raised horizontal oval inside the cutout on the trapezoidal area
  10. There is a metal rail boom microphone attached to the wearer’s left side of the helmet
  11. The microphone boom is attached to the helmet with an oval boom support
  12. There is a wire extending from the tip of the microphone, threads through a small metal connector on the microhome shaft, a cylindrical silver connector toward the back of the helmet, and ends at the lower back left side of the helmet into an approximately 2.5 cm (1″) black raised disc
  13. The cylindrical silver connector is approximately 2.5 cm (1″) in length and 12.5 mm (½”) in diameter
  14. Helmet is devoid of visible buttons or covers that are not present in reference photos
  15. Helmet style, décor, pinstriping, and paint scheme fits in the Star Wars universe
  16. Helmet is devoid of modern-world or other sci-fi-fantasy genre images
  17. Helmet is proportional to the wearer

Optional Details:

  1. Tan flight cap or helmet liner with chin strap and black leather or leather-like section that contains four snaps
  2. If submission includes a face character helmet paint scheme, it must be submitted as a face character with all accompanying costume details and the helmet must be of authentic quality to include details and weathering.
  3. Other schemes or details will be accepted with a reference photo during submission

Note: Helmet must be approved prior to use at any Rebel Legion event

Weathering

Required Details:

  1. All costume parts without required weathering have moderate to heavy weathering, especially the flight suit, chest box, gloves, and helmet

• This version of pilots are not seen with blasters or holsters so they are not part of the official standard. These items should not be submitted with your application and will require photos without these items for roster photo and to clearly view all costume parts. Local leadership may allow Luke’s Snowspeeder holster and DL-44 or DH-17 blasters for local troops.
