CHARACTER DESCRIPTION
Carasynthia “Cara” Dune was a human female Alderaanian who served as a shock trooper in the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the New Republic during the Galactic Civil War. A seasoned warrior, she was an intimidating brawler and a crack shot. By 9 ABY, Dune had put her days of military discipline behind her to operate as a mercenary. Outer Tunic

Required Details:
The upper body tunic is made from a black stretch material with the following details:

  1. Front has Princess seams from waist to shoulder, topstitched on both sides.
  2. Back has a center seam and 2 princess seams from waist to shoulder, all topstitched on both sides.
  3. Front and back panels have a raised hexagonal pattern, matching the hexagonal pattern overlay on the pants.
  4. Underarm panels are made of black neoprene or scuba material with raised black dash pattern. These panels are attached to the front and back panels with a thick black leather-like piping, top stitching only on the underarm-side of these seams.
  5. The top ends a couple inches/several centimeters above the wearer’s natural waist with a 1” to 1.5” (2.5 to 4 cm) waistband of black leather-like material.
  6. The top closes via a centered lapped zipper under the wearer’s right arm.
  7. The front of the top features three equally-spaced rows of black webbing that extends between the two underarm panels. Centered on these webbing pieces are metal-like bars that alternate raised silver & dark teal pieces. Each bar has three segments, the center one teal and the outer two silver.
  8. Spacing of webbing is in proportion to the wearer.
  9. The armholes and neckline have trim in the same thick black leather-like piping as the underarm panels.

Armor, Upper Body

Required Items:

  1. The shoulder bells attach along the princess seams on the front and back.
  2. Back plate is centered vertically between waistband and collar and stretch horizontally to meet the underarm panel seams on both sides.
  3. Front plate is centered just below neckline and stretch nearly to each shoulder bell, though these pieces do not touch.

Optional:

  1. Shoulder bells are secured with a thin elastic cord under the wearer’s arms.

Note: All armor pieces are painted in black and dark teal, moderately-to-heavily weathered, and match reference imagery in proportions, markings, and design.

Collar

Required Items:

  1. Collar attaches around the neckline of the top and scoops in towards the wearer’s neck; height is nearly the full height of the wearer’s neck.
  2. Collar is made from a rubber or hard material of either muted black or dark grey and shall be bordered in the same thick black leather-like piping as the top’s neckline.
  3. The center back of the collar has a vertical seam with topstitching on either side. There is a dark teal stripe painted over this seam and extending to approximately 1/8” (4 mm) past the topstitching lines.

Undershirt

Required Details:

  1. Black fitted t-shirt, made from a stretch matte knit fabric, such as jersey.
  2. The sleeves feature 5 total piped channels around the arm:
    • Sleeve attaches to the shirt at 1 piped channel.
    • The sleeve ends in a piped channel at the wearer’s mid-to-upper bicep.
    • The 3 remaining piped ridges are spread equally between the 2 seams/channels, approximately 1″ (2.5 cm) apart.

Pants

Required Details:

  1. Pants are a teal (blue-green) stretch material, with no visible pockets.
  2. Teal matches the same teal as the armor.
  3. The pants close by center fly (preferred), but if closing elsewhere (i.e. side zip), there is no visible closure.
  4. Pants have outer leg panels featuring the raised hexagonal pattern from the top. Textured panels are attached to the front and back panels with a thick black leather-like piping, top stitching only on the textured/outer-leg-side of these seams.
  5. Pants have a black waistband of the raised hexagonal pattern from the top. The waistband extends to a couple inches/several centimeters below the wearer’s natural waist (similar to a mid-rise pant).

Optional:

  1. Raised patterns are achieved via a method such as silicone printing, puffpaint, etc. in the screen accurate design.

Armor, Lower Body

Required Items:

  1. Right kneepad: rounded kneepad armor with accurate raised center blocks; secures with a 2″ (5 cm) black elastic strap around back of the wearer’s right knee with invisible closure such as Velcro. Kneepad hits the top of the boot on the right leg.
  2. Thigh piece: rectangular left armor is formed to wrap around the outside of the wearer’s left thigh, centered vertically between the bottom of the wearer’s buttock and top of their knee.

Note: All armor pieces are painted in black and dark teal, moderately-to-heavily weathered, and match reference imagery in proportions, markings, and design.

Belts

Required Details:

  1. Top belt: Black belt made of thin leather-like material approximately 1.5” (4 cm) in width; bordered in the thick black leather-like piping from top and pants, making the total height of the belt approximately 2” (5 cm). A row of topstitching the distance of the piping’s width goes around the top and bottom of the belt. The belt closes with a buckle composed of a 2” (5 cm) rectangular buckle blank, heavily distressed and with a silver card device aligned to the wearer’s left edge of the buckle (design consistent with Jyn Erso’s vest greeblie minus the colored rectangle, turned on its side).
  2. Holster Belt: Teal belt made of thin leather-like material with topstitching every approximately ½” (1 cm) around the length of the belt.
  3. The holster belt is 2.5″ – 3″ (6.5 – 8 cm) in width. The belt has a ½” (1 cm) black leather-like border on the top and bottom of the belt (for a total belt height of 3.5″-4.0”/9-10 cm , in proportion to the wearer).
  4. The belt closes via a hidden closure (like Velcro) on an overlap on the wearer’s left side. The end of the belt is slightly curved and tapered.
  5. There are 4 gray belt boxes with an oval indent and a light teal accent stripe. These boxes is evenly distributed from the wearer’s center back to the wearer’s left side, just behind the closure/overlap.
  6. There are three accurate rectangular greeblies on the belt along the wearer’s front right hip.
  7. The blaster holster is triangular in shape, hanging from the widest part of the triangle attached to the wearer’s right hip by hidden attachment behind the holster belt. There is a small triangular notch at the center top of the holster, just below the belt, and decorative topstitching along the holster’s edges. The holster’s blaster pocket folds over the pistol from front to back, close with a strap, and have an open end cap. The blaster pocket has a second grommet along its edge.

Boots

Required Details:

  1. Black knee-high leather-like boots with a low 1” (2.5 cm) wedge heel (preferred) or a flat sole. Boots have a rounded toe, jack-boot style seams, and an inner zipper. The top of the boots have five (5) 1” (2.5 cm) black leather-like straps, with the first around the top of the boot, and evenly distributed halfway down the height of the boot.
  2. The wearer’s right boot has a cut-out black leather-like strip down the outside, going from the top of the boot to the bottom of the fifth strap. Two silver greeblies are secured to this ridged strip with small topstitched straps that align with the third boot strap.

Optional:

  1. The wearer’s left boot has a wood-handled and metal knife hilt in a brown leather holster/strap.
  2. Removable/functional knife. See optional items below.

Gloves/Gauntlets

Required Details:

  1. Gloves are black leather-like gloves with motorcycle-style knuckle guards. The bar of knuckle guards along the top of the hand are a dark teal. The small guards on each finger are black with a mesh in the openings.
  2. Gauntlets are a teal leather-like material with a fold-down top and a tabbed Velcro closure along the inside of the arm. Both arms have armor pieces that are painted teal and moderately-to-heavily weathered.
  3. Teal is consistent with teal panels and teal armor.
  4. The wearer’s left arm has a ridged armor piece with a raised greeblie at the top.
  5. The wearer’s right arm has an armor piece with additional ridges in a different style from the left.

Hair and tattoos

Required Details:

Hair:

  1. Hair is done in a “pull-through braid” hairstyle along the wearer’s left side of the head, with a few loose pieces framing the face.
  2. The pull through braid has a teal colored piece of fabric woven through it.
  3. Teal fabric is consistent with other teal costume pieces (armor, leg panels, etc.).
  4. The right side of the costumer’s hair hangs straight and fall to about shoulder length. All natural hair colors accepted. Black preferred.

Tattoos:

  1. The wearer’s left cheek has a small (1/4”-1/2” / 6-13 mm, depending on proportion to the wearer) rebel insignia tattoo in black just below the eye.
  2. The wearer’s right arm has a band of roughly 1.5”-high (4 cm) and 1/2″-wide (13 mm) burnt red rectangles encompassing the center of the wearer’s bicep.

Optional:

  1. If armband tattoos are not worn, a black band must be worn to cover the area, as seen in season 1, episodes 7 & 8 (https://www.instagram.com/p/B6moaDNpBOJ/ – Source:)
  2. Armband is worn on the bicep of the right arm of the wearer.

Blaster Pistol

Required Details:

  1. Black blaster pistol with a flared tube-like scope on top.
  2. Blaster muzzle is slightly flared at the end and silver colored.
  3. Handle has a curved butt and looks like it is made of wood.

Boot Knife

Required Details:

  1. Wooden or wooden-looking handle.

Optional Details:

  1. Knife blade.
  2. Knife blade has the appearance of metal and is worn tucked into boot holster.
