Flight Suit

Required Details
• Orange medium-to-heavy weight matte fabric with no sheen one-piece flight suit/coveralls. Heavy cotton twill recommended.
• Flight suit has a front zipper that is hidden by a strip of the same material as the flight suit that is approximately 2.5 cm (1″) wide
• Flight suit is void of visible zippers or snaps.
• Mandarin-style collar with pointed tab closure, closing from wearer’s left to right with the exposed tab extending to the right side of the neck.
• Code cylinder pocket on outside of the wearer’s upper middle left arm, centered to the shoulder seam with slots for 5 code cylinders. Pocket is rectangular, width is a bit over 12.5 cm (5″) with seams between code cylinders 2.5 cm (1″) apart, height is slightly taller than the width by approx. 2.5 cm (1″)
• Comm pad pocket is on the outside of wearer’s left forearm above the wrist, centered to the shoulder seam and placed approximately halfway between the wrist and elbow. Open window is large enough for most of comm pad to be visible, border approx. 2.5 cm (1″) around all sides around window.
• Rectangular pocket with a rectangular flap closure on upper-middle of wearer’s right arm, centered to the shoulder seam. Width is nearly the width of arm if lying flat, height is taller than the width by a couple inches.
• Flight suit has two upper thigh pockets with curved openings, one on each leg, positioned close to the outer side seam of pant leg. Width is approx. ¾ the width of the pant leg lying flat, height is taller than width by a couple inches.
• Flight suit has two middle thigh pockets with rectangular flap closures, one on each leg, positioned immediately below upper thigh pockets and similarly close to outer side seam of pant leg. Width is the same as width of upper thigh pockets, height is taller than width by approx. 2.5 cm (1″)
• Flight suit has two pockets on wearer’s shins with rectangular flap closures, one on each leg, positioned similarly close to outer side seam of pant leg as upper and middle thigh pockets. Width and height measurements match the middle thigh pockets.
• All rectangular flap closures have a height that covers the top ¼ height of the pocket.
• Flight suit pant legs are tucked into boots and bloused over the top.

Optional Details
• There is a horizontal seam or double-topstitched line on the front of the flight suit that runs across the upper chest.
• There are two vertical seams or double-topstitched lines that run from the upper chest (horizontal seam) to waist seam centered on each side of the chest Mandarin-style collar closes with Velcro.
Cuffs close similar to the Mandarin-style collar with Velcro.
There is a shoulder gusset in the back on each side.
• Top and bottom portions of the flight suit are connected with an approximately 5 cm (2″) wide strip of material the same as the flight suit that wraps around the flight suit. This fabric has slight ruching in the back.
• There are two chest pockets with a height starting at approximately center on the chest and extending to the waist, and width from the center of either side of the chest and wrapping around the sides of the torso with curved openings, one on each side.

Required Details
• 3 distinct Code Cylinders are worn in wearer’s left shoulder pocket.
• Code Cylinders are silver metal or a material that is finished with a silver metal-like appearance.
• Code Cylinder shank is approximately 8.25 cm (3.25″).
• Each cylinder is comprised of a rod with a unique top end.
• Top ends of the Code Cylinders match reference images.

Flak Vest

Required Details
• Flak vest consists of a front and back panel made of an off-white or beige material (ballistic nylon or similar fabric)
• Flak vest is proportional to the wearer
• Flak vest is contoured to fit over the chest and back where the two panels are of a similar shape and size
• Font and back panels are connected at the top by shoulder straps approximately 5 cm (2″) wide that extend over the shoulders
• Shoulder straps are sewn in place to the inside of the flak vest panels
• Front and back panels connect at the bottom sides with straps of approximately 2.5 cm (1″) webbing similar in color to the vest using a strap adjuster style buckle that sits approximately 7.5 cm (3″) below the armpit.
• The excess strap lengths are either trimmed to length or tucked into the track to present a neat appearance.
• The bottom of the panels are approximately even and cover the chest extending approximately 7.5 cm (3″) past the armpit
• Front and back panels cover approximately half of the torso with significant flight suit visible between the belt and panels
• Front and back panels have a series of horizontal ribs created by inserting 6.5 mm (¼”) tubing (or similar sized material) through fabric tubes prepared for the tubing.
• Ribs are separated from each other by a space that is the same width as a finished rib
• Ribs on the front and back panels stop approximately 2.5 cm (1″) from each side
• Front Panel:
– Front panel is worn with the top of the panel at the base of the collar
– Front panel has 2 equally spaced ribs at the top (near the collar)
– Immediately below the two top ribs, there is a flat wide area (“The Gap”) with approximately 8 horizontal rows of top stitching that are approximately 6.5 mm (¼”) apart, for a total of approximately 5 cm (2″) of flat area
– Remainder of front panel contains 8-9 ribs that continue to the bottom edge of the front panel
– The panel has diagonal shaped corners where the bottom edge meets each side
• Back Panel:
– Top of the back panel sits approximately even with the top of the front panel
– Back panel has approximately 13 equally spaced ribs at the top proportional to wearer
– Immediately below the 13-14 top ribs, there is a gap approximately 3 cm (1.25″) with a track for webbing that is open in the center showing approximately 10 cm (4″) of webbing.
– There are 2 ribs below the track.
– Back panel has diagonal shaped corners where the bottom edge meets each side.

Optional Details
• Flak vest may be worn backwards
• Back panel webbing has a silver strap adjuster style buckle

Required Details
Note: All direction descriptions of the chest box are when looking at the box from from the front
• Grey rectangular box made of a hard, smooth material that is approximately 18.5 cm (7.25″) tall and 14.5 cm (5.75″) wide.
• There is a silver hollow disc, approximately 15 mm (0.6″) in diameter at the top of the chest box.
• Left side of box has a black vertical rectangle with small vertical rectangle cutout on the left side.
• Black vertical rectangle has a white 3 mm (⅛”) pinstripe border off center to the right.
• Black rectangle has 2 raised white acrylic or similar material 2.5 cm (1″) square buttons at the top inside the pinstripe.
• Black rectangle has a metal or metal-like silver round disc with cone knob, approximately 2.5 cm (1″) in diameter, centered vertically on the black rectangle and off center to the right horizontally.
• Rectangle has a metal or metal-like male silver snap, approximately 12.5 mm (½”) in diameter, just below the knob and to the left horizontally.
• Chest Box has a white 3 mm (⅛”) pinstripe square approximately ¼ of the box in the upper right corner.
• Square has 3 raised acrylic or similar material 2.5 cm (1″) square buttons with white in top left, and blue on the top right and bottom right quadrants.
• There are 3 rocker switches below the square.
• The rockers are white, grey, white in order.
• Outside rockers have a black dot centered on the top portion of the rocker.
• Middle rocker has a black dot centered on the bottom portion of the rocker.
• Rocker switches have separation between them.
• There are 2 channels in the grey box below the outside rocker switches.
• There is a ribbed grey hose approximately 2.5-3 cm (1–1.25″) diameter that attaches at the left-bottom of the box with the other end connected to the flight suit on the wearer’s left side of the suit just below the flak vest and above the belt OR the wearer’s left thigh pocket.
• If the hose is attached above the belt, the bottom of the hose falls approximately at belt level.
• Chest box is secured around the collar and the back with olive webbing straps.
• Strap around the collar is devoid of fasteners and connects to the chest box at the top corners.
• Strap around the back has a silver or black “strap adjuster” style buckle in the back.
• Strap around the back is worn under the flight harness.
• Chest box is worn low on the chest with the bottom edge of the chest box siting approximately 5-7.5 cm (2-3″) below the bottom edge of flak vest with the bottom strap around the back passing below the front flak vest panel.
• Excess strap is either trimmed or otherwise tucked to present a neat appearance.

Optional Details
• Three flat white squares on the top of the raised portion top of the chest box, approximately 6.5×6.5 mm (¼”x.¼”). Starting from the left side of the raised portion of the top of the chest box: 2 squares next to each other with a 3 mm (⅛”) gap between them and the third square with more space after it to right end of the raised portion of the top of the chest box.

• Second row from the top has two raised rectangular areas, the left being slightly larger than the right. Left is white with patterned holes on top, right is white with 2 horizontal recessed parallel lines and raised white circle in the center.
• Third row from the top has three raised areas: Left is a red rectangle, middle is a white square, right is slightly larger white square with a raised vertical line in the middle.

Required Details
• Black or dark grey/heavily weathered gauntlet gloves in a heavy fabric, suede, or suede-like material.
• Gauntlet has five to six lines of pleated stitching going horizontally around the gauntlet.
• There are four wider pleats on the top of the hand with the first three pleats that are closest to the fingers being the same size but smaller than the lower pleat, which is wider.

Optional Details
• There is a small strap attached on the inside top of the wrist behind the thumb.

Flight Harness

Required Details
• Harness is made of textured off-white, weathered webbing that is approximately 5 cm (2″) wide.
• Front and back harness straps extend up the torso under the flak vest with the attachment hidden by the flak vest.
• The lower part of the harness falls(or loop) just below the inseam (or crotch area).
• Two loops of strapping are connected to the front-back strapping at the lowest part of the front-back loop and loop around each leg, drooping no lower than the knees.

Optional Details
• Loops are connected to the front-back strapping by an X-shaped stitch.

Belt

Required Details
• Belt is made of silver gray webbing that is approximately 5 cm (2″) wide.
• Belt is closed with a 5 cm (2″) silver/gray roll pin (British roll pin) style belt buckle that is centered
• Free end of the belt is looped around the slide so that the excess belt is on the inside of the belt and secured.
• There is a panel of webbing approximately 18.5 cm (7.25″) long and the same color and width as the rest of the belt attached to the left and right sides of the belt.
• The panel contains 6 vertical webbing loops for mini belt flares.
• The webbing loops are the same color as the panel and belt.
• Belt is worn over the front/back harness strap.
• Belt sits at the waist over the optional fabric casing that joins the top and bottom parts of the flight suit (if present).

Optional Details
• The webbing panel has a triangle on the front most end that is sticked with thread similar to the belt. The apex of the triangle faces the center toward the belt buckle.
• Belt may be aligned off center and twisted.

Required Details
• Six to ten flares
• Silver metal or metallic silver in appearance air line hose connector fittings or replicas of similar shape and detail to fit in belt loops
• When in the belt loops, one end has a visible vertical cylinder, the other has 6-8 visible ribs
• A mix of empty and filled flare loops are acceptable with no more than five flares per side
• Flares are shorter than the width of the belt
• Ribbed side of flares can be either up or down but all flares must be in the same direction

Leg Flare Holder with Leg Flares

Required Details
• Holder is made from black or dark grey heavy fabric, canvas, or similar material that is approximately 10 cm (4″) tall
• Running the center of the holder is a thinner strap made of the same material sectioned off into eight loops and approximately 1/2 the height of the full holder
• Each holder loop contains a leg flare that is approximately 10 cm (4″) tall
• Leg flares are silver in color
• Each leg flare is cylindrical in shape, with cylindrical details on each end unique to the New Republic era that starts off narrower at the top, has a wider portion at the middle, and narrows in at the bottom. The top of the flare is flat and the top wider portion has an indented ring. The bottom of the flare is flat and has 2 raised rings on the narrow bottom portion
• Flares can be as described or flipped top and bottom, but all flares must be in the same direction
• Holder wraps around the wearer’s lower left leg and is fastened together in the back.
• Holder is positioned with the bottom edge resting on the top of the visible portion of the boot so there is no gap between the flare holder and the top of the boot.

Required Details
• All costume parts without required weathering have moderate weathering, especially the chest box, gloves, and helmet.

X-wing Pilot Helmet
