CHARACTER DESCRIPTION

Padmé Amidala was a courageous, hopeful leader, serving as Queen and then Senator of Naboo — and was also handy with a blaster. Despite her ideals and all she did for the cause of peace, her secret, forbidden marriage to Jedi Anakin Skywalker would prove to have dire consequences for the galaxy. (Source: Star Wars Databank)

REQUIRED ITEMS

[box]Bodice

 

Required Details:

  1. Fitted bodice made of a royal purple to indigo matte satin (silk recommended). Fabric has a slight sheen but is not shiny.
  2. Bottom edge of the bodice is above the hips on the sides and back and comes down to a point in the center front.
  3. Bodice has a V-shaped panel of dense royal purple to indigo iridescent sequins and seed beads in the center front.
  4. There is a V-shaped band around the sequin panel that comes to a contoured point at the bottom. It is decorated with a swirling vine design in matching satin cord, couched in matching metallic threads.
  5. Bodice has long, fitted sleeves of a matching crinkled matte satin fabric. Fabric has a slight sheen but is not shiny. Sleeves flare slightly at the wrist and extend to the costumer’s knuckles.
  6. Bodice has no visible topstitching.

Optional Details:

  1. The bodice is self-lined.
  2. Crinkle satin for the fitted sleeves is a slightly darker color than the bodice fabric.

Required Details:

  1. Wrist-length, bell-shaped, middle sleeves made of the same fabric as the bodice.
  2. Sleeves are lined a slightly lighter colored purple to indigo fabric. Fabric has a slight sheen but is not shiny.
  3. The sleeves are decorated with a dense swirling vine design in matching satin cord, couched in matching metallic threads.
  4. Outer sleeves do not have visible topstitching.

Optional Details:

  1. Sleeves may be attached to the bodice or to the inside of the surcoat.

Required Details:

  1. Floor-length A-line skirt made of the same fabric as the bodice
  2. Skirt has a long, contoured oval-shaped tabard that comes to a rounded point just above the bottom edge of the skirt. Tabard is made of the same fabric as the skirt.
  3. Tabard is decorated with a dense swirling vine design in matching satin cord, couched in matching metallic threads.
  4. The skirt has structure and is not limp (hoop skirt and/or petticoat recommended).

Optional Details:

  1. Tabard is self-lined.

Required Details:

  1. Surcoat made of a flame or flame-like burnout velvet (flame pattern may be finely painted instead of burnout). Velvet is deep purple to indigo, darker in color than the bodice and skirt. The velvet backing, seen through the burn-out flame shapes, is slightly lighter in color.
  2. Surcoat is fitted through the waist and flares with the shape of the A-line skirt. Surcoat hangs open in the center front to show most of the sequin panel on the bodice and most of the tabard on the skirt. Surcoat is floor-length, and slightly longer than the skirt.
  3. Surcoat has a tall standing collar. Collar is roughly the same height as the necklace.
  4. Surcoat has angled cap sleeves over large, rounded wing sleeves. Sleeves open in front of the armpit and end slightly above the bottom of the surcoat in back.
  5. Wing sleeves are pinned together at knee height in back by a large rosette brooch. Brooch is decorated with royal purple to indigo iridescent sequins, bugle beads, and seed beads.
  6. The surcoat is lined with royal purple to indigo crinkled satin (same fabric as fitted inner sleeves recommended).
  7. The collar and cap sleeves wings are decorated with royal purple to indigo iridescent sequins.
  8. The surcoat is decorated with medium purple to indigo piping (same fabric as outer sleeve lining recommended). Piping is attached to the outer edges of the jacket (center front, top of collar, bottom edge, outside of sleeves) and on decorative seams on the front and back of the torso of the surcoat.

Required Details:

  1. Low heeled matching pumps or flats.
[/box] [box]Necklace

 

Required Details:

  1. Tall, antique gold colored metallic choker.
  2. Necklace has seven textured horizontal bands secured by eight beveled vertical spokes.
  3. Spokes are evenly spaced around the neck, and the two spokes in the center back touch together where the necklace opens.

Required Details:

  1. Hair is pulled away from the face and tucked beneath a warm antique gold colored cage-like headdress. Headdress looks like an inverted “footed vase” shape.
  2. Headdress is covered in tiny braids. Braids are pulled straight over the headdress and over the top, where they are looped together into several curls at the top of the “vase foot.”
  3. Headdress cage consists of three wide rings, a slightly narrower spiral band, and ten narrow horizontal spokes.
  4. The three wide rings are decorated with small square tiles, stamped with a circle in the center of each.
  5. The spiral band wraps roughly four and a half times around the headdress, starting near the top of the left ear and wrapping down and around the back. The spiral band is decorated with many narrow rectangular tiles that have a fine filigree texture.
  6. The narrow spokes attach on top of the three rings but below the spiral band. The spokes are decorated with a slight filigree texture.
  7. Naturally occurring hair colors only (brown recommended), no bangs.

Note: If a wig or extensions are used, they must look like real hair and be of high quality.
