Naboo N-1 Pilot (Episode II)

ALL, Episode II (AOTC), Pilots

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION

A pilot, sometimes called a flyboy, directly controlled the operation of a vehicle while located within the same craft. A pilot was often assisted by a copilot, navigator, astromech droid, weapons officer, or other crew members. The term “pilot” was applied across vehicles used on land or in water, air, and/or space. The military designation for a pilot was PL-1. Whether this applied to all pilots or only starfighter pilots is unknown. On smaller ships, the word pilot and captain were interchangeable, but on larger vessels, the pilots were rarely the commanders of the vessels.

Y-Wing pilot (Episode VI)

ALL, Episode VI (ROTJ), Pilots

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION
Y Wing Pilot – The Rebel Alliance’s starfighter corps was one of its greatest assets. There were nearly as many stories as there were pilots: Rebel starfighters were flown by Imperial defectors, reformed mercenaries, adventure-seeking farmboys, and daredevils who only truly felt alive in a cockpit. Regardless of their backgrounds, Rebel pilots learned to work together, relying on their wingmen as well as their training in countless battles against the Empire. (Source: Star Wars Databank)
The Y-wing is a workhorse starfighter has been in use since the Clone Wars. Used for dogfights and for bombing runs against capital ships and ground targets, Y-wings are often overshadowed by newer models such as the X-wing and the A-wing. But the Y-wing’s historical importance is remarkable, and it has reliably served multiple generations of star pilots.(Source: Star Wars Databank)

Perhaps the oddest-looking starfighter in the Rebel Alliance fleet, the B-wing fighter is as powerful as it is ungainly. The ship’s structure is almost entirely taken up by its primary airfoil, which houses a cylindrical cockpit on one end, an engine cluster in the center, and a heavy weapons pod at its base. Located just below the engine cluster are a pair of S-foils which can deploy to extend the firing arc of twin laser cannons. The B-wing’s command pod has a unique gyroscopic control system. The pilot can orient it so that it always stays level with a horizon line. No matter which way the B-wing may maneuver laterally, its pilot remains upright. (Source: Star Wars Databank)

Clone Officer

Clone Officer

ALL, Clone Troopers, The Clone Wars

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION
Clone naval officers also known as clone navigators were clone troopers specifically trained in technical and tactical aspects of naval command.
Kaminoan scientists speculated that clones’ aptitude for space combat came from Jango Fett’s understanding of dogfight tactics, but even amongst his clones some had proved themselves capable of understanding and executing naval strategy to a greater degree than their brothers. Those clones received special naval training and many of them eventually became officers in the Republic Navy, although most of them were lower-tier commanders and aides to superior non-clone officers. Some of those officers believed that despite their training the clones were not suited for a role of an officer, which sometimes led to rising tensions aboard Galactic Republic ships. Although Grand Army of the Republic soldiers such as Rom Mohc had a high opinion of clones and relished working with them, others decided to avoid following Mohc’s kindness. As a result, these naval officers had tense relationships with officers.
